“When people’s parallel truth collides with their real truth, they may have a hard time in subduing all the fanciful items and characters of their invented world." ~Erik Pevernagie
There is no such thing as accidentally cheating on someone. You have to look back at why you let the temptation get you there in the first place. You can forgive the cheater but you will never forget and if you tolerate that kind of behavior it’s more than likely to happen again. And if you are married with kids you not only cheated on your spouse but you destroy your family’s trust as well.
The one ruining the kids lives would be the cheater. Because even if you stay married for the kids sake home life will never be the same. My brothers wife cheated when their daughter was very young. He decided not to divorce because she was so young. His wife made life a living hell for both dad and daughter. They split when she was in her teens. Things got better but now she’s 22 and the trauma of it has influenced her in a very negative way. I know that’s just 1 example but I don’t know any of any couple that tried to stay together after a cheating episode that rode it out for the kids benefi. The volatility was pretty intense .
I’ve been there as well, which prompted my reply. It’s been over 40 years since i’ve seen the guy but anytime I think of him I have to wonder WTF happened?
“Can you forgive a partner when they accidentally cheat on you”…. Hmmm 🤔… HELL NO!!! How do you ACCIDENTALLY cheat on someone??? There’s nothing “accidental” about it as far as I can see 🙅🏻♂️🙅🏻♂️🙅🏻♂️. You’re either faithful… or not.

If someone messes up once and you have kids, suck it up Buttercup. Don’t ruin your kids lives.
