Sell your soul, murder on command, and you might get to be CEO of Coca-Cola for five years before retirement, thus achieving an obscure entry on Wikipedia five people will ever see. But for most working people, everything you ever did at work was meaningless in the first place and instantly forgotten. Sound better than raising and teaching your kids?
The “Women’s Liberation” movement was an anti-labor psy-op designed to stagnate white collar and factory wages, just as illegal immigration was ruining the American trade and low skill workers in construction and farm work. The factory unions proved harder to break, so they off-shored manufacturing.
“First they came for the apple pickers…” Is any of this getting through?
The square bottle. So funny. I was stationed aboard a submarine for 4 years. When you go to sea, you don't angles and dangles. This means the boat takes several down and up angles and solar listens for loose things. If you were in the birthing compartments during this you'd hear glass rolling and clinking. Uh oh.
Whatever happened to all those cool appliances from the 50s and 60s - there were some really innovative ideas, yet we're still basically working with souped-up versions of the same, boring designs *facepalm
Here’s an old boomer’s trick from before hi-teck. Flush out your windshield washer reservoir and re-route the lengthened tube through the firewall and keep it with reach across the front seat. Fill the reservoir with Mogan David 20/20 and push the washer button with the tube in your mouth. No messy jugs or beer cans rolling around in the cab. You’re welcome
You probably do not know where that girl bought that gorgeous dress ?
I love sitting in my chair watching the birds. Not the same but close. I guess lots of people do not even know the most common birds in their yards. Because they go to work a job they don't like to afford the things they could enjoy if they stayed home and raised their own kids! Nothing surprises me more (unable to have children) than mothers who, after longing for a child, bring it to the day care and barely see it all day!
You're husband? I suppose you could not correct that awful mistake... it was already in the meme.
We found ourselves in that conundrum when our son was born in Cali. My husband made significantly less and the math said after daycare with a stranger at six weeks old( all I could afford to take off) we were positive about$2 an hour.
We made the decision for him to stay home. It caused us to rethink our spending and seriously downsize but it was perhaps the most impactful decision and best decision we ever made, in so many ways. All of them positive. ❤️30 years later, no regrets and I'd do it again, no question.
If I was still an alcoholic, the one about the “square” bottle of JD’s Whisky would absolutely hit home for me as it is true… Imagine a bottle of that rolling out from under the seat when you got pulled over by the cops??? But… It’s no longer a problem for me as I’m nearing 11 years of sobriety (on August 31st) ✊😌
Way to go Gerard! It’s been 42 years for me, but I’m still an alcoholic, I just ain’t going to drink today. Probably not anyway, we’ll see come bedtime.
Plant a tree.
The tolerance quote is attributed to GK Chesterton but I never could confirm that because I wanted to do a post on it.
Still love the quote.
That dress in the opening scene is magnificent.

You are good you!

Anyhow, great drop today, brother...
I’m doing my best to acquire and keep all old stuff. If I can keep one running, give me that any day over any new crap.
Thanks!
Today's Winner: EIGHTY-SIX COMEY
At this point everything feels like it's a shit show!

I rarely drink alcohol. Maybe 1/2 glass of wine on a special occasion. But I own plenty just as part of my prep for when the 💩show really gets going.
