We were definitely different kids back when. We worked hard to pass those gifts to our kids and it appears to have paid off. I’ll never forget the day our local park decided to replace the cool fun stuff and make it safer for the kids. Everyone agrees it is unrecognizable as a playground now. When someone wonders what the whole Covid nightmare was about, it was about instilling fear into people especially our kids. This had to be the turning point leading us into the “Apocalypse”. Bring it on! Brilliant memes today. Thanks Duke!
How many times during grade school did we see some poor kid running in from morning recess bloody from some incident while playing on the monkey bars. Then right back out at lunch break on the monkey bars with a big bandaid on his (or her) forehead or elbow. There was no spongy astro turf under those contraptions, it was either just dry hard pebbly dirt, or with mud puddles after it rained. Mostly mud puddles on Puget Sound.
