“I’ve had enough of someone else’s propaganda… I’m for truth, no matter who tells it. I’m for justice, no matter who it is for or against. I’m a human being first and foremost.." ~ MalcomX
Am genuinely curious if there are any Muslim countries that do not have usury? It’s against Sharia whatever that may mean exactly. Would think Iran might but I don’t know for certain.
Thanks I appreciate that….no one ever sees my posts/notes here lol but I just had to share my AI creations that I put together with 🎶🎵 😎 stay blessed D0g
That doesn't depict usury. That's Jesus pissed off about the money changers. You couldn't use Roman currency in the temple to buy your sacrifices so these guys would change it to 'temple money' for a massive fee. Like strip joints, give them a tenner and they give you nine 'ones' and then on the way out you give them ten 'ones' and you get nine bucks back.
This meme is completely misleading. usury is not a Biblical term. It is defined as lending with EXCESSIVE interest. It was not used in the context of government. There was a command to the PEOPLE of Israel, given when it was a theocracy, to not take advantage of their fellow Israelites through usury. And Jesus fought against the corruption of the Temple by money changers and commerce, not usury itself
Nah. Usury is lending with interest. These guys were being dodgy exploiting their monopoly on what might mean life and death for believers but it wasn't usury.
Side point: his head didn’t glow like a light bulb or have a halo on it. If it did, Judas wouldn’t have needed to kiss him in the garden to identify him to the people that came to arrest him.
It was quite simple… After that second utterance of “woahhh”, the next line is “Livin’ on a prayer” so after looking at the picture, lemon on a pear was the first thing that popped inside my head to match it 👍😁
If you ever want responses
Misquote a holy book
Usury is not interesting.
Good collection. Much love!

The custom table reminds me of people paying $120 for jeans with so many holes there's barely any material 😆

Love that tree with frost image. Most people hate winter but I worked outside in it for yrs. Loved it! But as one grows older it truly becomes harder.
Finally:
we can see which way the wind blows

Historically, the term often meant charging any interest, especially in religious or moral contexts (e.g., in medieval Christianity or Islamic law).
Today, in most legal systems, usury refers specifically to interest rates that exceed the maximum allowed by law.
I’m open to accepting this—can you point me to some documentation for this usage of the word?
Maybe I’m missing something here but isn’t a massive fee the definition of Usery?

Got it, usury only applies to money you’ve borrowed, but if they rip you off with high prices or fees, it’s not usury.
PoTAYto, PoTOTto..
Call it what you will, Jesus formed himself a whip and started beating them with it, for what they were doing. :D
Yeah, they were just mistaken. It wasn’t Usury so they thought they could get away with it

I love the Bon Jovi inspired fruit meme… “Woahhh, we’re halfway there, woahhh LEMON ON A PEAR!!!” I got the gag bro!!! 👍😆🍋🍐
Thanks for explaining! I didn’t get it at all. It’s funny
