Barabbas: One of my more chilling childhood memories was hearing Handel's Messiah - Death does he merit. Let His blood be upon us and on our children!

The older I get ,the sins of the flesh are a helluva lot easier to defeat.

And I truly thank GOD for that.

I was in rural Arkansas living in a tent under an overhand next to a waterfall. One day I went to a very small church. The pastor told a story. He had been young and full of youthful enthusiasms. Fast cars, fast women, much drinking, many sins. One night he was in a car wreck and as the car went off the side of the mountain he called upon the name of Jesus Christ. "Jesus save me" or words to that same effect. He survived the crash. He stopped drinking, stopped most of the sinning, got married, and became a pastor. Jesus does save those who call upon him. Praise God. Amen.

Many good reminders this morning, but I think Charlie Brown (could be related) gets the last word.

Seems every Sunday, after I stop by the DoG pound, I realize I need to spend a little more time in prayer, sometimes a lot more.

What I have found as I grew older was that God was there, guiding me along my whole life, and eventually I found out that the more I listen the better life got.
