I just tried the McDonald's thing with Perplexity AI. It swore up and down that it didn't have access to my location. When I asked where McDonald's was it gave me the closest one to my house and then the five next closest locations. When I asked how this was possible without having access to my location, it claimed it was a coincidence based on queries in my state. Must be an awful lot of people in my town of 13,000 using AI to find a McDonald's. Then I asked it how it knew I was in Ohio if it didn't have access to my location. It was purely a coincidence based on US queries! Boy, people in Ohio are clueless when it comes to finding a McDonald's. I don't know why they would even do business in this state.
