I don't think it's about people being lazy. I think that they've just become so immersed in the false reality that they can't admit, even to themselves, that they've been fooled so completely and for so long.
Years ago a friend and I, both antique lovers, joked about our precious furniture ending up in a yard sale. That Christmas decoration is something LOL ! Great selection !
