“Well, aspiring to live in the future is a better fate than miserably living in the past." "Miserably living in the past is a better fate than more miserably wallowing in the present.” ― Tim Rogers
I raced bicycles for years, and have crashed many times. There’s an art to it, they literally taught us at the olympic training center how to do it.
I crashed my bicycle once at over 50mph with nothing but a tank top and shorts on. Didn’t even break any bones - but I was covered in road rash from my neck down, got stitches on my elbow and still have quite a few scars. But I survived - just balled up around my head and protected it, at the expense of the rest of me. :P
I used to work in ER wound care and have taken care of some hellacious road rash.
My brother in law used to race bicycles in Florida. He was # 1 at one point. During Covid he got pneumonia, almost died. Got out of the hospital and got a Covid shot and had a severe reaction and almost died from that. He had quit racing about 10 years ago but know he has lung damage and his Dr said his lungs are like someone with COPD. Never smoked. Only rides casually.
I miss the big kid swings that were really tall and you could jump off and feel like you are flying.
Miss my dad, he used to let me have a sip or 2 of his beer.
He didn’t let me go out on dates with guys that drove a van or a motorcycle though.
Good for your dad.
Van aka ‘stabbin cabin’
Motorcycle dangerous as heck until one has lots of experience.
Have a great weekend!
(Sorry Dad, you knew since I was a baby I was your wild child 😇)
we always put safety 1st, all the gear all the time.
Thanks Duke, hope your weekend is great also.
ain’t nobody getting hurt with all that on! LOL
