Love these! Especially the merry go round. Never laughed so hard and had so much fun in my life as when those were still on the playgrounds. I wish they were still around.
Keep the "nostos" and "algos" coming, you could post those every day and it would never cease to get tiresome. It is good to remind ourselves what was taken from us.
You are so right. Many cherished memories we need to keep alive. When I look at ladies dressed to the 9’s I think about my mom & dad. She wore dresses like those. Back in the days people took pride in themselves. I’m looking forward to going to a vintage market and antique car show in a couple weeks.
That bus is gorgeous! And no, it is not just you; times, architecture, art…even everyday items like scissors and drain spouts were sophisticated, high quality and beautiful works of art. The Industrial Revolution finally overcame the need for beauty with bottom line focused mass production. Ever since the 1930’s, the world has gotten less classy and far more unattractive.

Ah! A woman after my own heart. I make time to make beautiful things everyday. I teach others how to create beauty. It’s my small goodness in the face the broken world.
I am creating a lace scarf for a family member. Finalized on content: merino, alpaca and silk. Pattern, I believe, is based on Edwardian designs. Started actual lace yesterday. So far, so good!
I’m working part-time at the moment, and am trying to build up my newsletter to hopefully one day be able to support myself exclusively with writing - and of course, meme-posting.
So feel free to become a paid subscriber and help a brother out. :)

True enough. And here I thought the purpose of being human was to create beauty in the world. I think I chose the wrong century to be in…🙄
