I have an honest question. Pickax looks great. No algorithm, bot blocking, direct monetizing. But my husband is a practical guy and often says “business is here to make money. If they aren’t charging for the product, you are the product.” Obviously that’s true on Substack and every other web everything. How does Pickax keep the lights on?
Ad's. There's no removing them, as you scroll around, you'll see them. Which I think is great, since, as you pointed out, the alternative is to be the product.
So far, everything seems on the up & up. I'd be the first to tell you, and leave myself if I find anything.

Good luck with Pick Ax. I've been posting there since the beginning, just a few days ago, and I'm not finding much audience or traction. But it is early. Have just been permanently banned from Fascist Book I look forward to a platform that does not censor. This is the series of essays that got me kicked off of Fascist Book on January 6th. I get so tired of this bullshit: accused of violating community standards (e.g., Globalist Standards) and pushing "hate speech." There is nothing in these essays that can be categorized as "hate speech." Even if I had we forget "hate speech" is protected speech under the 1st Amendment. In the real world the 6th Amendment allows citizens to address their accuser. On social media platforms this does not exist. I still don't know who, or what organization, called for my suspension. If I had to guess it was probably some Islamist group like CAIR.
I continue to believe that a "free market" of competing ideas and narratives is vital to sustaining a constitutional republic. George Washington put it perfectly:
"If the freedom of speech is taken away then dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter"
When I looked up the quote, via Google AI, it said Washington never actually said this which kinda misses the point. Such quotes are not important because of who said them. They are important because they often lay out universal truths that we feel deeply in our primordial souls.
Anyway here are the latest essays in the series that got me banned from Fascist Book. Let me know if you detect any hate speech.
